We at the Shadeville Holiness Church would like to thank God for our founders, Bro. Mike Nichols and Sis. Sharon Nichols. As God used Moses, we believe He raised Bro. Mike Nichols for the work here at Shadeville. In November of 1980, Shadeville had its first service. It all started in a rented old schoolhouse with a total of six members. As God began to bless and the congregation grew, the church purchased a two-car, unfinished garage. At the first service in that building, three people were saved. Again, God began to bless, and the congregation grew, and God moved again for us to buy another building—an old, abandoned bar. After much renovation, we had a wonderful building in which to worship. However, God wasn’t through yet.
In August of 1998, Bro. Albert Newsome, a local pastor, called Bro. Mike and told him God had spoken to him about Shadeville’s congregation moving to the building we now occupy. God helped Bro. Newsome build this building, and the two congregations merged and became Shadeville Church of God Holiness (Shadeville Holiness for short), as we know it today. Bro. Mike and Bro. Newsome both went home to receive their rewards, and the Lord raised up Bro. Jerry and Sis. Tina to carry on the work that the Lord started 45 years ago. The Lord is still tremendously blessing our church as we continue to grow and see the hand of God at work for another generation.
Looking back, we see where God has brought us from and what He has led us through. Looking ahead, our church family is on the last mile of the journey. There is no time to rest or stop; no matter the cost, we must continue faithfully until the end—together.
